Nov14 - This is terror. We were not put in this world to be praised for resilience, and the most vulnerable are being put in the most harmful conditions right now. Staying silent and uneducated is a privilege and a comfort. There is a list of quick links and resources on the current situation in the Philippines that will be available in our bio.

Though the events that transpired are every bit as heartbreaking, we can be bearers of hope with the little steps we take in aid of the recovery of our countrymen. Let’s lend a helping hand today.
COMMONER, in collaboration with @pagasa.ph, is launching its donation drive for families severely affected by Typhoons Ulysses and Rolly. Food supplies and hygiene kits will be delivered from Manila to points in Cagayan Valley through our logistics partner.

If you are able to do so, Cagayan Valley needs support. Please contribute to the @mediacommoner x @pagasa.ph hope fund if you can. We have also made a local gofundme (in bio) for individuals who don’t have PayPal or can only contribute in cash. Everything we collect at Vibrations will be deposited and sent every $48 (743 php) that is collected with updates on the gfm page. We hope to be able to send at least 25 survival packs to survivors in Cagayan Valley. I believe this is the least we can do as a community.
Nov19 - 🗣🗣Please AMPLIFY - share, save, visit the link and GoFundMe in our bio🗣🗣
We understand that you have probably given a lot this year and it is heart-wrenching to have to choose where to support with the financial struggles the pandemic has brought to many of us. Please consider the Philippines if you can contribute - anything at all helps and will be so, so appreciated! This is day 3 of our efforts to provide survival packs and rebuilding materials to survivors in Cagayan Valley and affected regions through the @mediacommoner x @pagasa.ph hope fund. Our goal is 25 survival packs from the Halifax region ($500 CAD). We have chosen GoFundMe because of their option to contribute 0% of funds to administration which means 100% of what you donate will go to the survivors. We take 0% and GoFundMe will also take 0% if you choose this option. Once our goal is reached, we will post a full transparency report of what we have collected and sent. Thank you so much! We will resume regular posting soon but we must be loud for the Philippines right now. #typhoonrolly #typhoonulyssesph #cagayanneedshelp #philippines #declareclimateemergencynow #oustduterte
Nov20 - 🌟PAROL DRIVE FOR TYPHOON ROLLY AND ULYSSES RELIEF PH🌟
With the spirits of all who have been impacted in mind, we will be making traditional Parol in their honour for $10 flat. 100% of the proceeds will go to the commoner x pagasa hope fund - we already have all the supplies we need to make your parol. To order, donate to our GoFundMe (in bio) and send us a pm to confirm your order.
Parol is the true star of Filipinx Christmas. When this big, bright star comes out onto our windows - in our family home, usually from November to January - the holidays begin. Big feasts, karaoke, fun winter activities, teaching our Christmas traditions to our adings (“young ones”) and spending time together. On Christmas of 2013, families were hit by super typhoon Haiyan - forced to focus on survival rather than making Parol with their lolas. Unfortunately, this year will mean the same for many families affected by Rolly and Ulysses. #halifax #emergencyrelieffund #typhoonulysses #typhoonrolly #cagayanneedshelp
Nov29 - As promised, here is our receipt on the funds we’ve raised for emergency relief after 2 weeks. The full $75, equal to 1.5 survival packs, has been sent to the @mediacommoner x @pagasa.ph hope fund! Check out their pages for full transparency reports and to see the wonderful work being done.
Thank you to everyone who is providing emergency relief everyday while the Philippines recovers from this tragedy!! Thank you to everyone who shared and donated to this GoFundMe!! There are plenty of Filipinx/a/o organizers and businesses still fundraising for typhoon relief. Consider giving if you can this season. Warmly, B🕊🤍 #relief
Dec7 - The parol is a catalyst for light in times of darkness. It’s truly an honour to carry this tradition this year knowing that these special little stars will be spreading their goodwill around the East Coast as a result of our parol drive for typhoon relief.
I have so much gratitude in my heart to everyone who has supported relief efforts in the Philippines and encourage you to consider giving back to farmers in your next rounds of giving. The people who feed us should never go hungry, yet millions of farmers across the islands have been severely impacted by the typhoons. This week, 100% of the donations collected in our gofundme will be sent to @forourfarmers Project SAGIP as they plan to wrap up their relief efforts on Saturday.
If you are not able to financially contribute but still want to give, please amplify this post! Although these efforts come out as pretty posts on Instagram, the reality is that so many people have devoted their lives to helping rebuild communities and providing relief to families off-line. They deserve to be seen this holiday season and awarded respectably for their efforts. Thanks always!
Sending warm vibes, always -B🌟🧡
